My interest lies in challenging the typical and accepted notions of design and its implications on society. My focus is on generating an inter-disciplinary awareness of design’s role in helping humans live symbiotically within the environment that sustains them.
I spent the summer of 2014 working on a 12-week project in New Delhi, India on exploring navigation and way-finding in the urban villages of Delhi as a means of addressing larger issues of social exclusion, infrastructure and safety in such communities. The project was supported by RISD’s GS Grant and the Maharam STEAM Fellowship.
Currently dreaming and designing in Boston, USA, where I’m a founding member of Street Ops, a collective of architects, planners and urbanists to employ DIY, tactical interventions in the urban environment to enhance the social and cultural landscape; as well as serve on the Tactical Assistance Panel (TAP) of the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) New England Chapter, offering expertise and workshop programs for organizations seeking to activate underperforming commercial districts and public spaces in New England.
